Meredith Brown, Montrose High School Senior, Receives the Boettcher Foundation Scholarship
Montrose, Colorado. Tim Schultz, President and Executive Director of the Boettcher Foundation recently announced that Montrose High School Senior, Meredith Brown, has been selected as a 2006 Boettcher Foundation Scholarship recipient. Miss Brown is the daughter of Mike and Teresa Brown of Montrose.
According to Mr. Schultz, “The Boettcher Scholarship program has sought to reward outstanding high school seniors who demonstrate the potential to make significant contributions to Colorado. The scholarship consists of full tuition, fees, a book allowance and an annual stipend for living expenses. The scholarship is granted for eight semesters at either a private or public four-year college or university within the state. Selection is strictly “merit-based,” allowing all seniors in Colorado to compete based upon their individual accomplishments. To be eligible for this prestigious award, a student must rank among the top 5% of their graduating class and have a score of at least 1200 on the SAT or 27 on the ACT.”
Miss Brown is on the varsity Tennis Team, the swimming team, is Editor-in-Chief for the school paper, is a member of Key Club and is President of National Honor Society. Her hobbies include playing the piano, photography, traveling, crafts and reading.
Miss Brown plans to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she will major in Biology. She plans to pursue a career in medicine.
