ANTHONY ROSSI NAMED A NATIONAL MERIT FINALIST

Montrose, Colorado.  Montrose High School principal, Jill Myers, announced today that MHS senior, Anthony Rossi has been named a 2006 National Merit© Finalist.   Anthony is the son of Alexander and Carla Rossi of Montrose.

According to Ms. Myers, “We are all very proud of Anthony.  He has been a great student here at MHS. He works hard to achieve his own goals, but also helps other students by volunteering in our Peer Math Tutoring Program.”

According to a spokesman for the National Merit© Scholarship Corporation, “Advancing to the Finalist standing in the 2006 National Merit© Scholarship Program is a distinction that places him in a group representing less than one percent of U.S. high school graduating seniors.”  Anthony is now eligible for one of three National Merit Scholarships.  Anthony has applied to the United States Air Force Academy and the University of Texas at Austin.
