Community has a chance to "Meet and Greet" the Principal Candidates
Montrose, CO. Parents, students, and other community members will have a chance on April 17th from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm at the Montrose High School cafeteria to meet and greet the candidates for three elementary principal vacancies.
We have 13 outstanding finalists for three leadership positions in our district. This event will allow each finalist to introduce themselves to the community, and let our community meet them in an informal setting.
The candidates include:

· David Crews-Cortez, CO
· Don Davidson-Craig, CO
· Dave Finley-Longmont, CO
· Cara Godbe-Montrose, CO
· LeRoy Guitierrez-Grand Junction , CO
· Bobbie Pate-Valle de Oro, TX
· Laurie Pascoe-Loveland, CO
· Mark Pretz-Walden-CO
· Melissa Webbe-Montrose, CO
· Jill Youngren-Montrose, CO
The finalists were selected, by committee, from qualified applicants from across the country. A committee comprised of school staff and parents will interview these finalists next week. This committee will make their recommendations to the school board.
The vacancies were created by three veteran principals retiring this year from Montrose RE-1J. Ann Braaten, Johnson Elementary Principal has been with our district for ten years. Bonnie Grigg is the Principal at Northside Elementary and has been with the district for 25 years. Dave Arellano is Oak Grove's Principal, and has been in education for 29 years.
