There is a great new way to show your support of public education, and at the same time, the Montrose Education Foundation, Inc.

After the passage of House Bill 06-1404, the Department of Motor Vehicles can now issue special license plates with the phrase “SUPPORT EDUCATION” on the face, along with the words “Public Schools” inside a gold graphic in the shape of a mortarboard, all with snow capped mountains in the background. (see image below)

The total cost of the plate is $45.

$20 is donated to the Education Foundation via the secure web site listed below,

$25 you will remit directly to the Department of Motor Vehicles when you pick up your plates.

Here is how to get your SUPPORT EDUCATION license plates:

Click on the license plate:

1. You will be directed to a SECURE web site to enter your name (BE SURE to enter it exactly as it appears on your vehicle’s registration)

2. Select the Montrose Education Foundation, Inc., as the beneficiary

3. Fill in your credit card information (remember, this is a SECURE site)

4. Review all the information, and submit—your card will be charged $20.00

5. Print off your certificate

6. Take that certificate to our DMV which is located in the Montrose County Courthouse, 1^st Floor

The SUPPORT EDUCATION plate can only be purchased with the certificate provided on this website. You will need to take that certificate to DMV office located in the Courthouse, pay them the $25.00 processing fee, show them your vehicle’s registration and you will receive your plates.
