The ABE/GED program is designed to help you improve your reading, writing, or math skills and/or earn a GED - High School Equivalency diploma. We work with you one-on-one in an open, friendly classroom on the skills you need. Practice GED tests are available. We are also here to support you in pursuing further educational goals or employment. Morning and evening classes are available at the MCSD RE-1J Administrative Annex.

Who can enroll in the GED program? Students who don't have a high school diploma can earn a GED - High School Equivalency diploma. The GED program is for students who are at least 17 years of age(waivers are available for 16 year olds). Students must be at least 17 years old and not enrolled in school to take the GED test.
- How do I register for the ABE/GED classes? The classes have open enrollment. You may register at any scheduled class.
- How much does the ABE/GED class cost? A class fee of $25.00 entitles you to instruction and any books you need to work toward your GED or improving your literacy.
- How much does the GED test cost? The fee for the complete GED test battery is $100.00. The fee for each of the five subtests is $20.00 if taken individually. Subtests can be taken in any combination. You may test up to 3 times in a calendar year.
- Can I go to college with a GED? Yes! More than 95% of colleges accept the GED.
