Upcoming Meetings and Events
Tuesday, April 21 - PAC Meeting.. Come at 6:30 for social time. Free childcare is provided in the gym starting at 6:30. Please plan to attend so you can help us spend the money that was raised this year. The principals from both Columbine and Centennial Middle Schools will be speaking and answering questions.
Wednesday, April 22 - Earth Day Celebration at Cottonwood
May 4-8 - Teacher Appreciation Week The PAC will be coordinating some fun ways to thank our teachers for all they do. If you are interesting in helping or planning with events, please contact Molly Dietrich at IESmontrose@gmail.com or 252‐8546. Look for information that will come home with your student about all the ways you and they can participate during the week. Sign-ups for food will be on the PAC website soon, so check there for all the information.
Tuesday, May 5 - PAC Meeting. Last meeting of the year. We will be electing Officers for 2009-2010. PAC officer elections for 2009-2010 will take place at the May 5 meeting. In additional to officer positions, a number of other volunteers are needed. We are looking for someone new to coordinate Cottonwood's participation in BoxTops 4 Education program (which also includes Tyson Project A+ and Campbell's Labels for Education.) Barbara Byers and Traci Hill currently do this job and are looking to show someone else the ropes so they can take it on for next year. What is the Cottonwood Parent Action Council?
The Cottonwood PAC is an self-sufficient school organization comprised of parents, teachers and administrators. Our purpose is to aid and enhance our children's education.
The Cottonwood PAC:
-
holds an annual Winter Festival for students and their families;
-
recruits and supports room parents so each teacher has a room parent to help with communication and organization of parties and special events; and
-
raises money through an annual fundraising event in the fall and then using that money to fund requests from teachers and parents in the form of mini-grants.
All parents are encouraged to attend. Child care is provided. In addition to present and past business, Dr. Tomlin will be there to bring us up to date with what is going on at the school and in the district.
