StarOffice8 is a full-featured office productivity software suite that is compatible with most Microsoft Office 2003 products and is available as a free download for students and teachers.   StarOffice8 includes StarOffice Writer (word processing product), StarOffice Calc (spreadsheet product), StarOffice Base (database product), StarOffice Draw (drawing tool product), and StarOffice Impress (presentation product).  Northside Elementary will be using StarOffice8 products in the computer lab starting August 2008.  Our computer lab will continue to focus on word processing and publishing so we will primarily be using StarOffice Writer and StarOffice Impress. Anything created in the lab can be saved in a format that is compatible with Microsoft Office 2003 products.  Click here if you would like free download instructions.
