HATS ON DAY!

Oak Grove Elementary presents “Hats On Day” on May 2nd.   We are doing our part to help support The Foundation For Children with Cancer.  Each student needs to bring $1 to school and then he/she can wear their favorite hat all day long!  An anonymous donor will place a donation for each student who doesn’t bring a dollar.  So in fact, all students will be wearing hats!  Thank you for your support

Yellow is the GREEN way to get to School!”

Are you interested in what you can do, right here in Montrose, to make the world a healthier place to live?  It’s quite simple....taking a school bus to and from school will reduce the impact we have on our environment.  It’s also the safest way for children to get to and from school.

Field Day

By Randilyn Madison and Delaney Jackson

Even though our school has Field Day every year, I think this year’s will be the best because (unlike last year) we will have great weather!  This year it will take place outside on the school grounds.  I’m certain we will have some tomfoolery games this year!  Some activities we have done in the past are the slip and slide, the water slide, and an obstacle course.  Most of the games we do are extremely mind boggling!  This Field Day will be held on the last  day of school, May 22nd.  Who knows what Mrs. Pascoe and the staff have in mind for this year!  I’m excited to see!  I am sure everyone will have a blast!  Clearly, Filed Day is an exceedingly fun day, and I don’t think you would want to miss it!!

Middle School

By:  Chandler Madison

I interviewed all of the fifth graders to see how they were feeling about middle school!  I gave them four choices:  sad, happy, nervous, or excited.  I had five kids say they were happy.  Fourteen kids said they were nervous.  Twelve kids said they were excited.  I had sixteen kids who were sad.  Ten kids had mixed feelings.  I hope our fifth graders have great years in middle school!
