2026-27 Elementary First Week of School Schedule
The new school year is almost here! As we get ready to welcome students back, we're sharing the elementary schedule for the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
This year, MCSD is using one shared schedule for the start of the school year across most elementary schools. The schedule includes beginning-of-year conferences, the first day of school for grades 1–5, and kindergarten assessment and start dates.
This schedule applies to all MCSD elementary schools except Peak Academy and Outer Range, which follow different school calendar.

Important Dates at a Glance

August 17–18: Elementary beginning-of-year conferences

August 19: First day of school for grades 1–5

August 31: First full day of Kindergarten
Beginning-of-Year Conferences
Beginning-of-year conferences for all elementary students will be held on Monday, August 17, and Tuesday, August 18
These conferences give families and teachers time to connect, share important information, and prepare for the school year.

Kindergarten
Kindergarten students will follow a different start schedule.
- August 19 or 20: Kindergarten assessments (your child's school will contact you to schedule a time).
- August 24: Kindergarten begins with a week of half-days.
- August 31: First full day of kindergarten.

Grades 1–5
- August 19: First day of school for students in grades 1–5.
