DAY PACK

• A comfortable, well-fitted day pack large enough to hold coats, clothing layers, water bottle, lunch box and snacks (ideally at least 18L)

BASE LAYERS

• Long sleeve shirt and pants (thermal long underwear)
• A sun shirt or lightweight long-sleeve shirt  (for sun and mosquito protection)

• Multiple sets to use throughout the week

• Rain jacket that zips or buttons (no ponchos, no umbrellas)

• An insulated puffy jacket.  We provide each child with a snowsuit to stay warm and dry, but it is helpful to have a jacket on hand at school as well, especially during seasonal transitions

Rain boot example:

• Sturdy, closed-toed shoes (students may not wear open-toed shoes to school)
• One extra pair of sneakers to keep at school (an old pair works great if they still fit)* 
• Wool socks, with one pair to keep at school  (we recommended having 4-5 pairs on hand at home during cold months)
• 2 extra pairs of cotton socks to keep at school
• Winter boots, ideally insulated and waterproof

Crocs and open-toed shoes are not allowed.

• Rain boots or galoshes, preferably to keep at school (for exploring wet and muddy environments)
• Extra boots or shoes to use throughout the week as wet gear dries

WATER BOTTLE

• Durable, reusable 32 oz water bottle (smaller size appropriate for preschool & kindergarten)

Mugs or water bottles with handles are not allowed as they do not fit well in day packs.

OTHER ESSENTIALS

• Insect protection: natural sprays, citronella bracelets,  DEET, or with  clothing (lightweight pants/sun shirt with hood)
• An extra change of seasonally appropriate clothes (including socks and underwear) . We end up dirty often - water happens, mud happens.
• An water resistant, analog watch

• Sunscreen, if you have a preferred brand (otherwise, we have plenty at school)
