Counselor's Corner

Student & Family Support:

Oak Grove’s school counselor program enhances students’ academic success, life-readiness, and social emotional development. If your student needs additional support outside the classroom environment, please reach out. Mr. Beshoar is available for group work, and brief one-to-one counseling to help students succeed.  If you or your family need long-term mental health counseling, please contact me at school to discuss several different options.

Absences:

We may be contacting you about your student’s attendance. Oak Grove believes that when students’ attendance declines, it negatively impacts overall academic growth, exam scores, achievement in math and reading, and relationship with peers and teachers. Early identification and intervention of these factors will not only improve attendance rate, but it will positively impact student achievement and overall school success.

If your family is struggling with getting to school or getting out the door is not a pleasant experience, please reach out. We have systems in place to help students and families get to school, on time, without difficult emotions.

Medical Concerns:

If your student has a medical condition that is interfering with school attendance or performance, please contact me to discuss accommodations and options for your family.

Community Resources:

Mr. Beshoar is the school contact for families in need. If there is a basic need not being met, or you are aware of a family in need please let him know.
