Grading is based on a 4.0 scale.  Honors and Colorado Mesa University/Western Colorado University concurrent enrollment classes are weighted: where a C or better is earned, one grade point is added to the semester grade point total (A=5.0 rather than a 4.0 etc.)

In addition, about 25-30 junior and senior students a year are concurrently enrolled in CTE programs through CMU, TCR, and Montrose HS.  Programs include:  CNA and Vet Asst, Emergency Medical Responder, Early Childhood Ed, Computer Networking, Welding and Machining, Hairstyling, and Auto/Diesel Repair.

18 Weighted Honors and Concurrent Enrollment courses are offered on our campus:
Honors Chemistry    AP Computer Science Principles
Conceptual Physics    AP Computer Science A
Honors English 9    AP Calculus A/B
Honors English 10    HIST 126/127 Am History
Honors English 11    POLS 180/260 Am Govt/World Pols
Statistics    ENG 111/112 English Comp
Advanced Math    CMU/CTE Courses
Spanish III
**Ranking of our students might skew perceptions.  Our junior and senior classes are extremely competitive, and it is not unusual for the top 10% of the class to have a 4.0 GPA or greater due to the number of weighted honors courses and concurrent enrollment courses through Colorado Mesa University and Western Colorado University available on our campus.
