My name is Kirsten Bloomfield and I am honored to serve the students and families as the proud principal of Johnson Elementary. It is a privilege to work with such a dedicated and professional staff. At Johnson, we strive to provide a rigorous, standards based curriculum that is differentiated to meet students’ needs. We believe in educating the whole child focusing on academic, social, and emotional growth.
I began my career by receiving a B.A. degree in Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Special Education from Metropolitan State College of Denver. I then continued my education by receiving a M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction Technology from Grand Canyon University and an additional M.A. in Educational Leadership from Jones University. I spent 12 years holding a variety of jobs in education including; Classroom Teacher (kindergarten, grade 2, grade 3, multi-age grades 2/3), Special Education Teacher, and Health Assistant. I then moved to school administration where I was an Assistant Principal for 3 years and Principal for the past 6 years.
My husband and I have 4 children and 3 granddaughters. In my free time, I love to read, listen to music, spend time with my family, and be outdoors. We are so excited to enjoy all of the adventures that Montrose has to offer!
I am grateful to be a part of Johnson and look forward to an amazing school year! If you should need anything, please feel free to contact me by email/phone or by stopping by. It is through working together that we will succeed in bringing the best educational opportunities to your child.
