Principal's Corner

Principal's Corner

James Barnhill
The staff at Montrose High School is committed to providing you the finest education to which you are willing to commit.  The staff of MHS will challenge and motivate you to put forth your best effort and strive for excellence.  It is important that you do your part to ensure that what you get out of your education is what is required to prepare you for life after high school.  The expectations are high, but I know that if you focus on your studies, stay active in activities, clubs and athletics, and respect your school, staff, peers and yourself, you will be successful.

I would like to invite everyone to take the time to celebrate achievements on a daily basis and to encourage those around you.  Remember to express gratitude to those who have helped you along this path we call education; the best place to start is at home with your parents.  Please take the time to thank your teachers, custodians, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, secretaries, paraprofessionals, maintenance crew, volunteers and administrators for the time and effort they put into your education every day.  I want to let everyone know that my door is always open, and I would like to hear your comments on what you think is being done well and what can be improved.

This year we start new initiatives with technology and Problem-based Learning, but our school remains focused on our Vision of LEADing from the Front!  Have a great and successful school year.
