MHS Commencement Time Changed to 8:30 AM Sunday

Due to the forecast of severe weather and a high chance of thunderstorms Sunday afternoon, we are moving Sunday’s MONTROSE HIGH SCHOOL graduation ceremony from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m.  We know this is a significant change, but our goal is to keep the ceremony outdoors so all families and community members can attend. Moving indoors would require limiting attendance, which we want to avoid.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. We look forward to seeing everyone on the MONTROSE HIGH SCHOOL football field at 8:30 AM on SUNDAY MORNING for our Commencement Ceremony.

Timeline & Tax Impact

High school Football Players giving high fives to entering elementary students.
-Construction begins Summer 2025
-Building finished Summer 2027
-Football stadium completed in 2028

-Size of Bond Measure: $198 Million

-Tax impact of $9 per month per $100,000 of a home’s actual value

Western Slope construction cost escalation averages more than 10% annually (which means that each year this problem goes unsolved, the cost increases close to $20M more). Waiting a decade to build the school will double the cost.
